Welcome to The Myths, Legends, and Folklore Book Club: A 6-Week Reading Adventure!

 

The Myths, Legends, and Folklore Book Club transcends the traditional notion of a reading group; it’s a transformative odyssey that sparks the imagination of young adventurers with the magic of storytelling. Tailored for children aged 9-12, this 6-week program plunges them into the whimsical universe of “The Sasquatch Escape” by Suzanne Selfors, where they’ll follow Ben Silverstein and Pearl in their quest to recapture a mischievous Sasquatch. This club intertwines enchanting narratives with interactive learning, mythical and legend exploration, with some hands-on creativity. Each session includes a Trivia, a vocabulary game, discussion of the book, and a craft activity. The structure is designed to keep children engaged and actively participating throughout the hour.

10. Can parents participate in the sessions?

While the sessions are designed for the children to participate independently, parents are welcome to observe and provide support as needed. However, the primary goal is to encourage the children to engage and interact with their peers.
