The Alien Explorers Book Club is a 4-week live, online reading program hosted by Miss Kyria from the House of Education. It’s designed for kids aged 7-10 to explore the exciting Alien in My Pocket book series by Nate Ball. Participants will read the first four books, play interactive book-based games, and create fun crafts inspired by the story.

3. How does the book club work?
Each week, participants will join a one-hour live session with Miss Kyria, where they’ll discuss the week’s reading, play games based on the story, and create a hands-on craft related to the Alien in My Pocket series. Kids will read the books independently during the week, and then we’ll come together to share, play, and create.

6. What are the craft materials needed?
Each week, we’ll create a fun, themed craft related to the book we’re reading. The materials will be simple, everyday items you can find at home, such as printouts, paper, glue, crayons, and scissors. We’ll send out a full materials list before the start of the program and each weekly session.
7. When do we meet?
The club meets once a week for one hour in a live online session. You’ll receive the specific time and KoalaGo, and ClassDojo link when you register. If your child misses a session, we’ll provide a recap to keep them up to date for the next meeting.
8. What if my child hasn’t finished reading the book before the session?
No worries! While we encourage children to complete the weekly reading, the book club discussions, games, and crafts are designed to be inclusive and fun, even if they haven’t finished every chapter. The activities will help motivate them to continue reading at their own pace.
9. Is parental involvement required?
Parents do not need to actively participate in the book club sessions. However, we recommend that parents assist children in gathering materials for the weekly craft and helping them log into the online session. Encouraging your child’s reading throughout the week is always helpful, too!
10. What technology is required to participate?
To join the live online sessions, you’ll need:

11. Can we join if we’ve already read the books?

Recordings of live sessions are not available to protect the privacy of participants.
